The awards ceremony was attended by prominent authorities, including Dr. Eva Ortega-Paino, Secretary General of Research of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities of Spain, as well as the General Director of BASF Spain, Carles Navarro Vigo, and the Director of ICIQ, Emilio Palomares.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Francisco Bosca, Dr. Maria Luisa Mar\u00edn, Dr. Oscar Cabezuelo Gandia, PhD and Luis Nicol\u00e1s Ponce Gonz\u00e1lez, from the Universitat Polit\u00e8cnica de Val\u00e8ncia (UPV) and the CSIC, from PAMA &#8211; Supported Photoactive Materials- Photoactive Supported Materials, have been awarded the Best Patent Award in the third edition of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Awards organized by BASF and ICIQ.<\/p>\n<p>The patent, \u201cPhotocatalyst for the treatment of fluids containing organic matter\u201d, represents a significant advance in the field of photocatalysis applied to the treatment of contaminated water. The patented technology not only opens new doors for the water treatment industry, but also reinforces the research team&#8217;s commitment to the development of scientific solutions that drive sustainability and technological innovation.<\/p>\n<p>This innovation focuses on the use of photocatalysis, a process that, through the action of light and special semiconductor materials, allows for the most efficient and environmentally friendly removal of organic pollutants.<\/p>\n<p>We would like to express our gratitude to BASF and ICIQ for organizing these awards, which promote innovation and entrepreneurship, and for recognizing the value of patents as a driver of transformation and progress.
